Glipsy Medical Sources
Where the medical information in Glipsy comes from. Glipsy keeps a record for you and is not medical advice: check with your doctor before changing anything about your treatment.
How the daily goals are set
- Protein: about 0.55 g per lb of goal weight (1.2 g per kg), kept between 60 and 140 g. The advisory below names 1.2 to 1.6 g per kg, about 0.55 to 0.73 g per lb, during weight loss.
- Fiber: 25 g, or 30 g if constipation is a concern, within the 22 to 34 g NIDDK gives for adults.
- Water: a Glipsy starting point worked out from weight, about 68 to 101 oz (2 to 3 litres) a day, set within the reference ranges below. No guideline gives this exact formula.
These are starting points you can change. Ask your doctor or dietitian what's right for you.
