In short: we don't collect or store your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

On your phone only

Your prayer list, highlights, notes, memory verses, reading plan progress, favorites, theme, reminder times and Ask conversation are saved only on your device. Reminders are local notifications and never show your prayers. Listen uses your phone's built-in voice, offline. Delete your Ask conversation anytime in Settings, or delete the app to remove everything.

Ask (AI answers)

Ask works only after you agree, and you can turn it off in Settings. When you ask a question:

• Your question and the last part of your conversation are sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which asks Google's Gemini AI to write the answer.
• Our server never writes your questions, answers or IP address to disk or to any log.
• So that common questions (like "What does John 3:16 mean?") can be answered instantly for everyone, the first question of a conversation and its answer may be kept in the server's memory for up to 3 days. They are not linked to you, your device or your network address, and follow-up questions are never kept.
• To stop automated abuse, the server keeps a short count of requests from a random ID created by the app and from your network address. These counts stay in memory for about a minute and are never written down. The app also uses Apple's App Attest to show the server that it is the genuine app on a real Apple device. This does not tell us who you are and cannot be used to follow you across apps.
• Google processes the question under the Gemini API terms and does not use it to train its models.

Please don't include personal details such as names, addresses or health information in your questions.

Your rights (including EU, UK and California)

Ask sends your question only after you agree in the app, and you can withdraw that consent anytime by turning Ask off in Settings. Because we keep no account or profile and nothing is linked to you, we hold no personal data we could show, correct or delete; everything else is on your phone, where you control it. Our server is in the United States, and Google (our processor for Ask) may process questions in other countries. You can contact us or your local data protection authority with any concern.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We never see your name or payment details.

Children

Lamp Bible is not directed at children under 13.
